Health, led
with love.

Lerato means love, and that's how we approach health. Honest screenings, dietary guidance and education brought to your home, office, or your screen. Built around the rhythm of your life, not a clinic's calendar.

A note from the founder
"We listen first.
Then we screen, teach, and walk with you."
01 / About

A small practice with a large idea: that prevention is care, and care is personal.

Origins

Lerato M Health & Wellness was born from a deep-rooted passion to improve the health and wellness of our community and country at large. Recognising the increasing prevalence of lifestyle-related health issues, we sought to create a business that empowers individuals through knowledge and personalised health services.

We saw a gap in accessible health education, and we walked into it.

So we built a service that meets people where they are. We bring screenings to homes, workplaces and online consults across the country. We treat each client as one person, not one of many, listening before recommending, and tailoring everything from dietary plans to follow-up cadence.

Our work sits at the intersection of preventive care, nutrition, and education. Less reaction. More attention.

03 / Approach

Why our clients stay.

A · 01
Tailored, not templated.

Two clients with the same reading rarely need the same plan. We start with your story (work, family, sleep, stress) and then build from there.

A · 02
Trust, over transactions.

We work for the long arc, not the single visit. That means honest follow-ups, no upselling, and a relationship that earns its keep year after year.

A · 03
Always current.

Health science moves quickly. So do we, refreshing our protocols and education materials against the latest research and South African guidelines.

04 / Why prevention

The case for acting early, in one number.

73%

of deaths globally by 2020 were caused by non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular, diabetes, respiratory and cancers.

Most are shaped by sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy eating, tobacco and obesity. All are addressable. All are at the centre of what we do.

Healthier teams perform better. We partner with companies to bring screenings, education and support directly to your office, turning wellness from a perk into a practice.
01
More productivity
Healthy bodies fuel sharper minds. Active, well-nourished teams ship more, and burn out less.
02
Reduced health risks
Earlier detection and better habits lower long-term medical costs for you and your people.
03
Higher morale
Wellness offerings tell employees they're seen and valued, and that quietly changes culture.
04
Less absenteeism
Workplaces with comprehensive wellness programs report fewer sick days and smoother operations.
05
Recruit & retain
Top candidates choose employers who invest in them. Existing teams stay longer, too.

08 / Sectors

A mine, a depot and a head office are not the same brief.

Wellness challenges differ by sector, but the underlying pattern is consistent: employers need prevention-led, practical interventions that fit real working conditions. Here is how we read each one.

01

Mining & heavy industry

Physical exposure, shift work, remote sites, contractor controls and long-cycle work patterns, with TB, occupational disease and fatigue still on the reporting agenda.

Where we fit
  • Prevention-led screening and lifestyle-risk reduction for employees and contractors
  • Mobile, on-site services that fit rotation and shift patterns
  • Short, practical interventions that show up in management reporting
02

Logistics & transport

Fatigue, road risk, long hours, driver fitness and a workforce dispersed across depots and routes.

Where we fit
  • Quick mobile checks: blood pressure, glucose, nutrition and fatigue awareness
  • A practical bridge between awareness and action, with on-site delivery
  • A prevention-first offer that frontline and shift workers can actually reach
03

Construction & manufacturing

Physical strain, project pressure, fitness-to-work requirements and contractor coordination across changing sites.

Where we fit
  • Screening and education that help workers act on risk before it becomes a fitness issue
  • A visible activation layer that lifts participation and follow-through
  • Short, deployable interventions that do not disrupt production
04

Corporate & financial services

Rarely a lack of benefits, more often low engagement, stress, burnout, sedentary work and hidden presenteeism.

Where we fit
  • Health activations that improve visibility, engagement and behaviour change
  • Practical screening, nutrition and education that turn wellbeing into action
  • On-site or mobile activation that lifts take-up of existing benefits
05

Renewable energy & project work

Contractor-heavy delivery, dispersed teams, changing site conditions and zero-harm operating cultures.

Where we fit
  • Wellness scheduled around project phases and site access
  • Mobile, repeatable delivery that works across sites and contractors
  • A complementary prevention layer focused on health risk and resilience
09 / Evidence

Health, translated into business value.

We design around measurable outcomes such as participation, absenteeism, retention, employee experience, risk reduction and operational continuity, rather than wellness activity for its own sake. The business case is supported by public research.

Wellness is an operating issue, not a feel-good add-on.
What buyers actually care about
Productivity

Wellbeing should support focus, energy and sustained performance.

Screening, nutrition, fatigue awareness and practical follow-up.

Attendance

Good programmes should reduce avoidable absence and presenteeism.

Early risk detection and targeted prevention.

Retention & morale

Employees stay longer when they feel valued and supported.

Visible, easy-to-use wellness activations that people actually attend.

Risk & continuity

Health risks can disrupt operations and increase cost.

POPIA-conscious reporting and clear recommendations for managers.

On return on investment

Published industry benchmarks suggest comprehensive workplace programmes can return several rand for every rand invested, largely through reduced medical costs, fewer avoidable absences and better productivity. We do not lead with a single number because benchmarks vary by sector and programme design. What we commit to is measurement: agreeing the metrics up front, reporting them in plain language, and letting your own data make the case.

10 / Difference

Why employers choose us.

01
Prevention first

The service starts before people become cases or claims, not after.

02
Sector specific

A mine, a depot, a factory and a head office are not treated the same way.

03
Mobile and practical

Delivery is designed for real work patterns, not only for office staff.

04
Screening plus education

Checks, coaching and follow-up together, rather than a one-off event.

05
Plain-language reporting

Outputs designed for HR, SHEQ, procurement and operations.

06
Complements what exists

We do not replace EAPs, clinics or safety systems; we help them work better together.

We help clients convert existing wellbeing spend into visible participation and practical risk reduction.
Core capability
Clinical wellness lead

Qualified dietitian with experience at Pholosong Hospital, Nestlé and Discovery, including screening, counselling and health coaching.

Consent, confidentiality and clear reporting.

Health information is sensitive. Consent-based processes, confidentiality and structured reporting are part of the service, not an afterthought, and they are what makes wellness data usable by HR, SHEQ and executives without putting employees at risk.

Social

Health screenings, nutrition guidance, health education, wellness days and community-facing support.

Shows visible care for employees and communities.
Governance

POPIA-conscious handling of health information, consent-based processes and structured reporting.
